中國が１日午前、大規(guī)模な建國６０周年記念軍事パレードを開催する。この日午前１０時、北京天安門広場に軍統(tǒng)帥権者の胡錦濤國家主席兼黨総書記兼黨および國家中央軍事委主席が現(xiàn)れ、パレードが始まる。
人民服形態(tài)の軍服を著た胡主席は３００萬元（約４０００萬円）のオープンカー「紅旗」に搭乗し、陸軍・第２砲兵隊・武裝警察・海軍・空軍などの順序で、５６の少數(shù)民族を象徴する５６部隊・８００人の兵力を査閲する。
ここには大陸間弾道核ミサイルを含む１０８基のミサイルとタンク・戦車・大砲など最新武器が並ぶ。このうち５２種の武器は今回新しく登場するものだ。核弾頭３つを搭載できる射程距離１萬１０００キロの新型大陸間弾道ミサイル（ＩＣＢＭ）東風(fēng)３１Ａなど、１３種の戦略武器が特に目を引く新武器だ。
この日のパレードのピークは約１００機の先端戦闘機が２５０－６００メートルの高度で天安門上空を東から西に低空飛行する行事。戦闘機がお互い２０－３０メートルの間隔を維持したまま飛行する‘史上最大の空中ショー’だ。
戦闘機は過去初めて武器を搭載した狀態(tài)で閲兵式に登場する。いかなる狀況でも直ちに戦闘に投入できるという點を誇示するためだ。
行事が終わった後、人民大會堂では５萬７０００人が參加した中、祝賀花火が打ち上げられる予定だ。
この日の軍事パレードは１０年ぶりとなる。新華社通信と中央放送（ＣＣＴＶ）など中國官営メディアは「軍事パレードは國防現(xiàn)代化の成果を國內(nèi)外に誇示する舞臺になるだろう」と伝えている。中國が世界超強大國入りしたことを公開的に示すパレードということだ。
