Rare earth market update on August 20, 2025
The overall domestic rare earth market continues to trend upward, driven by multiple factors: heightened inquiry and procurement enthusiasm from magnetic material enterprises, difficulty in increasing spot supply, and strong speculative sentiment among suppliers, leading to another significant surge in praseodymium-neodymium raw material prices. Under these conditions, the prices of neodymium-iron-boron blanks and other rare earth raw materials have also risen. Today, praseodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 52,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 8.70%; neodymium oxide prices increased by about 52,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 8.72%; praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices increased by around 45,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 7.63%; praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by about 50,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 6.90%; terbium oxide prices increased by approximately 120 yuan per kilogram, a rise of 1.71%; dysprosium oxide prices increased by about 40,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 2.45%; and ferro-dysprosium prices increased by approximately 50,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 3.16%.
According to CTIA GROUP LTD Online statistics, since the beginning of the year, praseodymium oxide prices have increased by about 234,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 56.25%; neodymium oxide prices have increased by about 243,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 60.00%; praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices have increased by about 235,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 58.75%; praseodymium-neodymium metal prices have increased by about 284,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 57.84%; terbium oxide prices have increased by about 1,540 yuan per kilogram, a rise of 27.45%; dysprosium oxide prices have increased by about 50,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 3.09%; and ferro-dysprosium prices have increased by about 57,000 yuan per ton, a rise of 3.62%.
